King Of Limbs

Just pre-ordered the new Radiohead album King of Limbs - downloadable on Saturday 2/19....T minus 2 days till audio bliss....

The last album Thom and the boys released, In Rainbows, was available to consumers to download at any price the consumer saw fit - this album is being released as the "world's first" Newspaper album and will come with the following...

• Two clear 10" vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.
• A compact disc.
• Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.
• The Newspaper Album comes with a digital download that is compatible with all good digital media players.
• The Newspaper Album will be shipped on Monday 9th May 2011 you can, however, enjoy the download on Saturday 19th February 2011.
• One will be signed by the band

Pretty cool concept - I opted for the $9.99 digital download but am hoping a buddy will get the Newspaper album version so I can see the artwork etc.  Radiohead has always been a musical pioneer with their sound - I love that they are continuing to test new pricing models and distribution formats to transform the music business - iTunes can't compete with that strategy....

Now - what is a Newspaper Album - guess no one really knows - but Death and Taxes seems to have the best guess....
