Richmond Green

The bathroom renovation is complete!  As mentioned here - our previous bathroom left much to be desired.  It all started with my "I hate the fake legs on this sink" obsession and ended with a new and improved downstairs bathroom....

Our color inspiration came from my love of Kate/Andy Spade's bathroom.   I love the retro black and white with the pop of kelly green zebra wallpaper.  We tried to find a similar shade of green suitable for a bathroom and stumbled across the perfect shade - Benjamin Moore's Richmond Green.

It is so grassy and cheerful and although I had a minor heart palpitation when I first saw how bright it turned out- we really love the way it enhances our old school 1950s black and white vintage tile.

So here we go - the big reveal -

Goodbye fake legs - hello beautiful pedestal sink and Grecian white marble floor

We have an Eliza B Askin pen drawing on our wall - but hope to add more B&W art as our collection grows

Big Blue Band-Aid

Irene cleanup has begun at Home Sweet Hanna - stage 1 - goodbye fallen tees...hello giant blue tarps to protect the exposed roof/side of the house....

The ultimate roof accessory...in this summers hottest color...Cerulean

Powers lines are still down - Dominion - are you there?  Please come by for a visit!

We worked with David L Sisk to get the trees cleaned up - they arrived yesterday with a crew of 8 and some serious heavy machinery...

 They are coming back next week to give us an estimate on the broken fence....hoping that and the power are restored soon so sweet George can return from summer camp to his backyard...

Next steps - the Insurance adjuster is coming by and will recommend a general contractor to help fix the house - then we will talk about trees for the front yard as it is a bit bare now without our large Oak...

The tree removers did a fabulous job - and filled in the hole in our front yard -but we will be in desperate need of some landscaping - fall project.

Hopefully the next hurricane Katia will leave us alone.  Still no power for Home Sweet Hanna - but we will keep you posted!
