Green Means GO

We are moving ahead with the downstairs bathroom project - see before pics and the post here.   We are keeping the original 1950s black and white tile and decided as an accent to go big and go GREEN!  The exact color is Benjamin Moore Richmond Green.

I started to get a little nervous but have been regaining my Go Green confidence with these lovely lavatories below....

And of my original inspiration Jack and Kate Spade Zebra Bathroom - more on the zebras here....

Stay tuned for an update on the our progress!

OBXd

It's been a busy two weeks...
First we took George to the river for the first time - he was pooped on the way home and fell asleep instantly

Next, I went to NYC and Bermuda for work
Valerie and Betty at the TV Land Hot In Cleveland/Happily Divorced Premiere Party
Sunset over Hamilton Harbor in Bermuda (delicious dinner at Blu with the client)
Upon returning from Bermuda, we cleared out the kitchen for our mini-renovation
(new floor, counter, and appliances)
Michael was awesome and helped us move the range and fridge - he can be bribed with Oreos
So empty - and ready for tiling
After some heavy lifting, The Hanna House went south to Duck, NC for a week of Hanna-cation...such a fun relaxing trip and we had a blast hanging with our adorable nieces....pics below...
Whole Gang - minus Michael who couldnt get away from the hospital
Kate playing the ring game and Kill Devil Grill
Sophia driving the tractor during GoCarts
Bridget watching the race

Can you believe next weekend is the 4th of July?  What Happened to June?

Layering with Mary McDonald

Bravo has done it again!  New favorite show - Million Dollar Decorators.

Getting to know the designers wacky personalities as well as their design atheistic is a fun Tuesday treat.  This week I was blown away by Mary McDonald who was finishing a guest house for client Kendra.  The look was masculine but very glamorous. When she was shopping for $3,500 a piece antler accessories (money is no object in this show) it was interesting to hear her talk about layering - I love how she plays with patterns, textures, and periods.  Below are a few of her heavily layered designs that I adore...
